Are you a sibling looking to get more involved in disability rights activism? The Arc’s National Sibling Council seeks to foster the active involvement of siblings of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in The Arc’s grassroots advocacy efforts nationwide. Siblings are an important and unique segment of the disability rights movement. We want your help as we work to promote and protect the rights of individuals with I/DD throughout the country.
The Arc seeks applications from siblings who are eager to take a leadership role in The Arc’s advocacy movement. Members of the council will be asked to complete the following:
- Participate in 4 quarterly conference calls each year.
- Carry out the advocacy action steps assigned in each call, and report back to the council.
- Encourage other siblings to join The Arc’s advocacy movement.
Deadline to apply: February 15
