UC UCEDD’s Family Support Coordinator, Amy Clawson, was recently presented the “Special Needs Community Impact Award†during this year’s Cincinnati Reds’ Developmental Disability Awareness Day.  This honor is awarded by the Paragon Financial Group and this year marks its 7thyear of recognizing individuals in the community who are deeply committed to people with disabilities and their families. On receiving the award, Amy commented, “It is an honor to receive an award to do the job I love doing. Helping families is a passion of mine.”

The UC UCEDD Team Goes to Washington
UC UCEDD, the University of Cincinnati University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, recently made the trip to Capitol Hill to take part in the Disability Policy Seminar 2015. The seminar is important because it gives a voice to those with disabilities, and allows advocates to educate members of Congress and their staff on the priorities of the disabilities community.
Transition Bootcamp 2015 Helps Families of Young People with Disabilities Make a Plan for Life
This was just one of the points made by Sue Beck, Transition Bootcamp 2015 keynote speaker. It is also the reason that more than 400 people attended UC UCEDD’s (University of Cincinnati University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities) November 6th event at Sharonville Convention Center.
